Couples Therapy
Couples therapy offers a supportive space to understand the emotional patterns shaping your relationship. Rather than focusing on who’s right or wrong, we’ll look at what happens underneath conflict, distance, or recurring misunderstandings. Through an attachment-informed, emotionally focused approach, couples work centres on rebuilding trust, improving communication, and creating safer, more connected ways of being with one another.

About Me
Hi, I’m Mia, and I’m glad you’re here. I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) based in Etobicoke, offering virtual therapy across Ontario.
I work primarily with people who feel stuck in painful relationship patterns - feeling anxious or overwhelmed in close relationships, pulling away when things feel too vulnerable, or losing themselves in the needs of others. Many of the clients I support carry attachment wounds shaped by early relationships, past experiences of emotional neglect, or relational trauma. Therapy is a space to slow down, make sense of these patterns, and build safer, more secure ways of relating to yourself and the people in your life.
Alongside relational work, I also have extensive experience supporting individuals navigating substance use. I approach this work with curiosity and compassion, recognizing substance use as something that develops in context rather than in isolation. Whether you’re questioning your relationship with substances, working toward change, or looking for support without pressure or judgment, therapy can offer a place to explore this at your own pace.
My approach is relational, emotionally focused, and attachment-based, informed by trauma-informed and anti-oppressive perspectives. I see healing as both personal and relational - shaped by your environment, your relationships, and your story.

About The practice
Attachments Psychotherapy is grounded in the belief that healing happens in relationship. Therapy here is not about “fixing” or pathologizing you, but about understanding the patterns, experiences, and environments that have shaped how you relate to yourself and to others. It’s a place to bring the parts of you that feel tired, guarded, unsure, or worn down by relationships that have been confusing or painful.
The work here is relational and attachment-informed, grounded in the belief that many of our struggles develop in connection - and can be healed there too. Rather than rushing toward solutions, therapy focuses on understanding patterns, emotional responses, and coping strategies in the context of your relationships, your history, and your nervous system.
Sessions are paced with care and curiosity. Whether we’re working individually or with couples, the aim is to create enough safety to explore what’s been difficult to hold alone, and to support more secure, authentic ways of relating - to yourself and to others.
Context Matters
You are shaped by your relationships, environment, culture, and lived experience. These layers are held with care here.
Embodiment in Felt Experience
Insight matters, but so does what happens in the body. Here we attend to the emotional and physiological responses, helping you notice and trust what you feel, not just what you think.
Authenticity
Therapy is a space to be honest without having to perform or explain yourself. You’re invited to show up as you are, at your own pace.
Our Values
Relational - Not Prescriptive
Meaningful change happens through understanding and connection. Not quick fixes or one-size-fits all solutions.
Safety in Pacing
Trust is built over time. We move at a pace that supports your comfort and readiness.
Collaboration
Therapy is a shared process, shaped together not just directed at you.

Feeling unsure, anxious, or ambivalent about therapy is very common - especially when past relationships or experiences have made trust difficult. Therapy is a space where uncertainty is welcome, and we can move at a pace that feels safe and supportive.
-
No. Many people begin therapy feeling unsure about what to talk about or where to start. It’s common to have a general sense that something isn’t working - in relationships, emotions, or coping - without having clear words for it yet. Therapy offers a space to slow down, explore what feels most present, and make sense of things together, at a pace that feels supportive.
